As deputy editor of Revelist, I learned how important it is to be a leader, not just a boss.

Between managing a team of eight staff writers, directing features (branded and otherwise), overseeing beauty and fashion video production, AND keeping up with my own writing, putting those management skills into effect was the most valuable lesson I've ever learned.

Editing 15-30 stories per day, managing teams of freelance writers. Budget, content/revenue/pv goals.
